Yingluck’s Smoke Screen
Yingluck announced yesterday Nov 8, 11 that she was setting up two strategic committees, Strategic Committee for Reconstruction and Future Development (SCRF) and Strategic Committee for Water Resources Management (SCWRM).
The need for the first committee, SCRF, is understandable since the crisis has destroyed almost everything in its path.
Thailand must quickly recovery from these losses.
However, the need for the second one, SCWRM, is not that straightforward even though there may be some issues related to the SCRF.
Why?
This depends on rationales or motives behind the setup of the SCWRM.
Do we already know what caused this catastrophic crisis?
If the nature is completely at fault, then the SCWRM is certainly needed.
New plans, ways, and equipments are required next to fight with this kind of magnitude, and huge investment is unavoidable.
That is a big if here.
Nobody knows exactly what went wrong yet.
Based on many evidences found so far by almost all media and concerned citizens, Yingluck and her government mismanaged many key situations.
Many major decisions were made wrongly or ignored completely due to stupidity, incompetence, and indecisiveness.
For example, the situation at Bang-Rakum district was a big sign for things to come and Yingluck as the PM completely missed it.
Are we still sure about the need for the SCWRM?
Until all the facts are known, the SCWRM can wait!
Is this a smoke screen of Yingluck’s?
Is this some kind of a diversion created to shift the blame to the mother nature?
Is this a part of Yingluck’s strategy to mislead Thai people?
What strategy?
The strategy that Yingluck is not to blame for this crisis whatsoever!
