Some human basic rights must be limited and one of those rights is freedom.
Because freedom cannot be allowed to weaken the righteousness and justice.
Freedom to live, freedom to love, freedom to happiness are people's absolute rights.
But freedom to suffer, violate, terrorize, threaten or force others need to be stopped.

It's written on the inner back cover page of the passport that says;

"THIS PASSPORT IS THE PROPERTY OF THE ROYAL THAI GOVERNMENT AND MAYBE WITHDRAWN AT ANYTIME"

I am Thai. My parents both are Thai as well. My education is not high or anything.
But I've been using English as my second language for more than ten years.
I use it everyday, all four skills, listen, speak, read and write.

My inspiration is His Majesty the King's book "Phra Mahachanok" that I adopted
as my guidance throughout my life. This book taught me about the painstaking,
and also gave me strength and perseverance to overcome all the burdens I had to face.

It doesn't matter where you are from or who your ancestors are.
It is YOU who need to decide how hard you are willing to work for your life,
and how far you are willing to go. Be good and do good. That will be your great protection.

Manager jailed, deported for threat via SMS


DUBAI — A Jordanian manager was sentenced to three months in jail on Sunday for threatening in writing a compatriot co-worker of exposing him with disgraceful matters if he did not return his calls. The verdict is open to appeal within 15 days.


The Court of First Instance also ordered that the 34-year-old defendant be deported after serving his jail term.
The complainant, a 42-year-old manager at the general trading company (formerly), said during the investigation that his superior, the defendant, summoned him in November last year and sacked him from his work at the firm in Deira. He told him to return a laptop, staff passports, labour cards, files and other official documents.

The following day, the complainant did hand over those documents but the person who received them denied him a collection receipt. So he asked for some staff to stand witnesses. In his statement to the prosecutor, the complainant said that he later got many missed calls from the defendant with whom he did not want to communicate.

Then he received an SMS from the accused in which the latter threatened to expose him with disgraceful things if he did not take his calls. He went to file a complaint with the Muraqqabat police but he was told that he should go to the Public Prosecution for such complaints. He then received an e-mail from the accused telling him that the reason behind his sacking was his absconding from work, which he alleged was untrue. The company’s lawyer then called him and told him that if he did not turn up to the company he would be charged with breach of trust.

He was afraid and worried that the accused might harm him so he filed a criminal complaint with the Public Prosecution. Also a complaint was opened at Raffa police station.
Part of the evidence, is a copy of the SMS with the threatening content. The defendant admitted he did send the SMS to the complainant but only to provoke him.

This case, a commoner to a commoner, is about "threatening in writing", letters, emails or even sms, several forms of writings.
If those writings contain the threats, then you'll be wrong in the eyes of the law. You break the law! Get it?
And if you send more than one sms, then you don't act surprised but multiply the punishments thereof.

You know it's wrong, why still doing it?

Mr. Frank La Rue, with all due respect, what about the laws that are against homosexuality in Africa and the Middle East.
The punishment is death. What are you going to say about that? Isn't that a crime of humanity? Isn't that violated the basic human rights?
You said that this law is unclear and the penalty is excessive. I guess you didn't understand this law at all.
You've come from the western part of the world. You may not get what we feel right here in our hearts.

We, the Thai citizens, have had this law to protect our greatest beloved King and the royal family and what is wrong with that?
We have our rights and liberty to have our own way of living that is not always depending on what you might become accustomed to.
And what is your intention to change this law? Why are you required to criticize them freely? Why do you need to do such thing?
This law never bothers anyone unless you are trying to mess with it exactly like any other laws. You don't violate it, you don't get hurt, simple as that.


Try to educate yourself first Mr. La Rue and before you make any further comments, please try to pay a respect to our country.
Not everything in this world is happening your way. You need to know when to stay quiet and leave the room.
Especially, when it is clearly none of your business and you need to keep your nose out of it.

I have seen many people say that this case, it's just an sms, it's a small thing and need to be ignored.
I strongly disagree with that because it doesn't matter which means you use to commit the crime.
It's the law we are talking about. It's the court of justice we need to obey.

Let's take a look at something that is similar to this incident. There were riots and looting in the UK a couple months ago.
UK is the country we copied their democracy from. And by far is one of those who is amongst the world advanced countries.
But two men were sentenced 4 years in prison just by using Facebook to incite the riot. Even though it was a failing one.
But the UK police took it very seriously and the court sent a very clear message to the public.
That this is not going to be tolerated, when you violate the laws therefore consequences are definitely waiting for you.

Of course, the sentence went widely criticized, and many felt that it was too harsh and unnecessary.
But the UK's PM said, the tough sentences were good deterrence.

And some of those British said that maybe they needed these stronger pills for the society.
Some even suggested "execution" to be considered being brought back aka there is a zero - tolerance policy applied.
Many of those rioters were minors, they are usually protected by law. But in this case the prosecutors decided to use
"Name and Shame" to let the public know that enough is enough.

My point is even if getting arrested and put in jail by using Facebook might seem ridiculous and laughable to some people.
But the law doesn't look it that way. The intention of your action that's what matters the most.
I'm not judging the old man or anything, if he is guilty as charged he should be brought to justice.
But if he didn't do it, I wish he would walk out of this as a free and innocent man.

Let's us take this as an excellent warning, freedom doesn't enable you to do everything as you please.
Because there are others living in the same society as you are at the moment.
Public sympathy is a good thing, I feel that we are required to be heartfelt in every chance we can.
But for what it's worth here. Are we willing to lose, sacrifice and abandon good public values over such crimes as well?

Remember this. When you do the crime, you also need to do the time. So, don't do it.
Don't socialize with criminals and bad guys. Don't let yourself be in a position
that makes you guilty by association. Then you'll stay out of troubles, problems free.

The Uzbek guy in the news hasn't killed or murdered anyone yet but threatened the US president.
He was indicted on four charges of threatening Obama, one charge on illegally possessing weapons.


"Threatening the President of the United States is a class D felony under United States Code Title 18, Section 871.
The offense is punishable by five years in prison, a $250,000 fine, a $100 special assessment, and 3 years of supervised release."


4 charges, 5 years each is 20 years maximum in prison plus US$250,000 fine
as applied and allowed by the US law and this hasn't included the weapon charge yet.
Once again he hasn't killed anyone yet! Remember that.

Is the US law too cruel?

Harrison Ford role's is the President of the United States.
Glenn Close's is the Vice President. She's not the Secretary of State. Therefore she's next in line to be the President.
There's a part when the Defense Secretary wanted her to sign her name and take over the government but she didn't.

I still insist that accent or no accent. It DOESN'T matter.
But she graduated from the US with a Master Degree since 1991.
And now 20 years later. Any improvement at all?
Any ambition to get better on her weak points?

Will you be surprised to hear that Americans complain about the immigrants on a similar issue as well?
They say, if you want to LIVE in their country, you are REQUIRED to communicate in English.
They don't talk about the accent like this lady claimed. But they need you to be able to comprehend the language.

It is not your ancestor's language, no it is not. It's not getting you to the moon, probably not.
But look around. Whether you want to accept it or not, it's coming closer to you with every minute pass.
You will be one or too many steps behind those who already have it, and that's true.
When you feel that you need it, and start to learn. Others, they all know how to utilize it already.

Does it hurt you or cost you anything just to know more and better? Until that day when we are, Thais, dominate the world.
Having something that keeps us from being taken advantages of, is ALWAYS a better choice.
It's the power of knowledge, nobody can fool you because you are armed and protected.

Know it good and know it well.

Being sarcastic is not helping. Name calling is uncalled for.
You need to learn to be reasonable and deal with facts and proof.

Yes, I still think that the PM was trying to say "all welcome" instead of "overcome"
(as explained in my earlier post.)
But that is only just my opinion, one of the possibilities that she might have said.
Whether other people will agree with me or not. That's up to them to make
a decision which I have no control over. That is the system.

I believe here in this community you can think and say differently, but to do those wisely is preferable.
Sit back, relax and go to your happy place. Imagine that everyone is your enemy is exhausted
and life consumed. Hope your will come to your senses, sharing the world with diversities is not that difficult.

We must establish an atmosphere of responsibility and accountability in a culture that encourages everyone to do what is right instead of the bare minimum required by the law.

Having Thai accent when you speak English is okay. I don't and never will find that a problem.
We have heard those nationals speak English with their own accents, Indians, Koreans, Singaporeans including Australians.
There's nothing wrong with that but what I concern is how you comprehend your English skills, read, write, speak and the most important and difficult one, listen. They all have to be blended in together, so it will come out as a communication that other people understand you in a same single way.

After watching both press conferences, I found myself not irritated but unsatisfied with the PM's answers given to the press.

The answer: "(Inaudible) to go back to your questions, your question is – sorry that I missed this cabinet meeting because by coincident of the trip that – to go back, was on Monday night. Honestly, (this word is pronounced with an O sound, silent H not like the way the PM spoke), I didn't get anything useful out of this at all.
Her answer was not even an answer, it's incomprehensible in any way. It didn't make any sense. She could have shortened it by saying "No comment".
That would have been better! I could only guess whether she was prepared for this press or thought that this was just another media presentation.

And after that I only heard Secretary Clinton did the rest, then the press conference ended and that was it. Whose problem is this, the US or Thailand?
I believe many people are intimidated by Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton, men and women and that is very understandable. But still, shaking up by her but making an excuse that you didn't know what was going on in your own cabinet which is currently running the country is frowned upon.

I am sure that Madam Secretary, she has been briefed by the US ambassador EVERYTHING about this 'leader' already.
And yet, no matter what she might think of us right now, of course not, she wouldn't say a word but to inform her president afterward.
Let's hope that whatever she has seen, heard and witnessed won't give her a second thought on the US foreign policy to Thailand.

English is not my native tongue but I strongly believe that practice makes perfect. Especially, when you live abroad that's a good opportunity to do so.
But it's kinda make me wonder how the PM survived all those years she studied in the United States with so limited English skills, still like this.
Americans, they speak American. They have their own way and you need to keep up with them. And since she graduated from the Kentucky State.
Then she had to be exposed to an accent, the unique southern state style which is pretty hard to understand if you're not familiar to it.

I don't know how long she spent her time in the US but the longer the time period was, the more chance she might pick up one or two habits
from where she was accustomed to in those years. Like Abhisit adopted the English accent over the years he spent his time in England.
And it's kinda make me wonder even more that how she understood those Americans, how they even understood her and how the assignments
from her professors were handled? So what we can do is keep on wondering, huh?
